I’ve had a good idea. I’m going to try and do a monthly update. Naturally I’m unfashionably late to the party so this is just a quick catch-up. Lyn and I decide at the beginning of the year to try and do at least one thing each month. In January we had dinner in Exeter at The Botanist and then went to the Cathedral to watch a light show called “Time” by Luxmuralis. I recommend clicking on the link. It Sounds a bit boring but it was honestly very impressive.

In February we went back to Exeter Cathedral to see the giant moon! This wasn’t that impressive but we did combine it with a trip to Ikea which is always interesting and if you haven’t discovered their amazing value breakfasts you’re missing out.

In March of course I had the boys trip to Lisbon. Technically the day trip below was the 1st of April I’m going to count it as March as April is quite a packed month. We got to use our National Trust membership for the first time this year and went to Compton Castle. A very poor claim to fame is we were the first visitors of 2025. Then on to Torre Abby in Torquay and last stop of the day was Canontiegh Falls to have the birthday treat my children had got me. I think they are trying to inherit early because it consisted of a cream tea and then a climb up the tallest manmade waterfall in England… Obviously I survived. Take that diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, deformed foot, knackered hip, dodgy knees, general obesity and inappropriate footwear. If ever there was an example of a victory of stupidity over common sense that would be it. Nice view from the top.
